DESCRIPTION:The contest is open to anyone with a model meeting the BMFA FxRES rules. If you’ve not flown FxRES before\, you will be very welcome as an entrant\, a spectator or a helper. \nThis is a two-day event on Saturday and Sunday. \nFxRES is a competition class for 2m-span thermal soaring models constructed mainly from wood. Contests are a variant of the provisional FAI classes F3L (bungee launch) and F5L (electric launch) to a simplified and relaxed format. Bungee and electric launch gliders compete side by side but with separate score sheets. A competitor can fly F3L or F5L or both. So a great excuse for a fun family day out. \nTickets are sold in a phased basis\, so book early to get the best price! \n  \nAbout the show \nElvington is now the LMA’s largest and most popular show of the year\, attracting hundreds of visitors from around the country. \nDid you know\, the runway at Elvington is over 3000m (10\,000ft) long! \nFor 2026 we have lots of new ground attractions & even more traders. \nThe airfield is also home to York Air Museum! This hidden gem has some fantastic aircraft on display\, from WW1 to post ware cold jets… including a Nimrod\, Victor\, Messerschmitt 109\, Dakota\, Halifax.. to name just a few. There is an added bonus that anyone with a show ticket\, will get a 10% discount on entry to the Museum. So why not make more of your weekend/ day at the show.. and visit the museum at the same time! \nIf you have never been to Elvington\, we think 2026 is the year to give it a go! There are many new models/ pilots joining us for our 2026 shows\, along with some old LMA classics refurbished and brought back to the show scene\, so we really can’t wait to show them off to you all! \nThere will also be a number of ground attractions\, with fun for all the family (see below). See the current provisional list on the LMA website. \n  \nSwapmeet \nWe will also be looking to hold another one of our popular car-boot style swapmeets for the public to buy & sell any used items. If you are wanting to sell items at our swapmeet\, simply load your vehicle with used items\, turn up on the day and let the gate staff know you are selling in the swapmeet. A swapmeet pitch costs £20 on top of your show-entry price. No pre-booking required and is payable on the day. \n  \nCamping \nCamping is available on-site and we would love to build on this\, with evening entertainment from musicians\, fun fair rides\, food/ bar facilities open until late and some informal night flying fun! SUMMARY:Teesside MFC Training Evenings
DESCRIPTION:Training evenings  every Tuesday from April to September\, weather permitting at Teesside MFC’s flying site on Drovers Lane\, Redmarshall\, Stockton -on-Tees.  The club offers free trial flights using a buddy box enabled club aircraft to anyone wanting to try our sport. They also provide tuition to members from club approved instructors using either club aircraft or their own. All training and air experience flights are free.

DESCRIPTION:Join us for the British Fun Fly Association’s Fun Fly National Championships. Open to any BMFA member with an A certificate and newcomers are very welcome! Novice up to expert classes. \nClasses 1\, 2 and 3. Take part in up to two classes for no extra fee\, including the Foamy Sub Class for standard\, out the box foamies. Two day competition with briefing at 9am both days. Any qualifying fun fly or sport model can be used with trophies and certificates awarded in each class plus the Robin Jones Trophy for the overall National Fun Fly Champion for 2026. \n£30 entry fee for the weekend (paid on the day). Juniors FREE! Camping available from the Buckminster office. To enter\, please fill in the entry form on the BFFA website when available\, where you will also find more details\, including the current rules.
