IMAC UK National Competition

August 17 - August 18

Camping is available on site at additional cost, toilet facilities are available, a small kitchen is available for our use.

Upon the request of the BMFA, Friday 16th will not be a designated IMAC UK practise day

Therefore, the committee has decided that no practise using petrol powered aircraft will be permitted at the National Flying Centre on Friday 16th August 2024, any pilot practising with I.C powered aircraft will not be allowed to continue in the competition on Saturday and Sunday

Practise using electric powered aircraft is permitted.

Please be aware that the main hanger will be available to store aircraft and/or equipment during the weekend.

It is every pilot’s responsibility to ensure our aircraft engines are silenced appropriately and good throttle management is used to help minimise the noise and secure future use of our flying sites.

Aircraft failsafe settings will be checked 0900 Saturday morning before flying commences.

The pilot briefing will commence at 0930, prompt Saturday & Sunday, any pilot not attending the briefing will only be allowed to fly at the discretion of the CD/Competition Secretary.

Flying will commence at 1000 Saturday and Sunday, and end with a freestyle round to finish.

As you have voluntarily entered the competition you are declaring your aeroplanes are compliant with the IMAC UK rules, BMFA recommendations and CAA guidelines including Article 16.

  1. Sequence flying

Single known rounds will be flown.

Your aircraft must be ready to start as soon as the previous pilot has taken off.

The flying order will be Unlimited, Intermediate, Sportsman, Basic, Advanced.

There will be no class flying order I will nominate the first in each class, the remainder of each class can be organised amongst the pilots, dependent on callers of each pilot.

Each class will be judged using 4 persons, 2 to judge, 1 to call the sequence and 1 pilot to be the zero judge to ensure each part of the sequence is flown correctly.

Pilots are requested to make themselves available to judge, call or be the zero judge.

The Unknown sequences will be handed out as soon as the last known sequence of the day has finished on Saturday. It is the pilot’s responsibility to get his unknown sequence sheet from the CD.

The Unknown round will be the first flight of the day on Sunday for all classes except basic followed by sequence rounds. Pilot flying order will be drawn from hat for unknowns.

  1. Freestyle

There will be two days of freestyle flying, this will commence after sequence flying has finished, and start time is dependent on the on number of freestyle entries.

  1. Refreshments

Lunch will be as close to 1230 as possible Saturday and Sunday.

Tea and coffee will be supplied and will be available free of charge.
